Another song on the charts this week is a different Jaz Z/Timberlake collaboration: "Holy Grail". I don't really care for that one, though, so, I went back a few weeks for a different song the two artists had worked on together. "Suit & Tie" was Timberlake's come-back song after spending time developing a film career. It hit all the right chords.
The song is a mix of new pop music with old school R&B. The horn blasts and groove bring the R&B, while the synths and beats add the new flavors. The song became a #1 for Timberlake and proved once again that pairing him with partner Timbaland, who was a writer and producer on the song, and mixing in a little Jay Z is always a good idea.
