Fool in the Rain - Led Zeppelin

There are lots and lots of videos on YouTube that spend their time devoted to playing the groove that John Bonham laid down for this track. It's a half-time shuffle that is sort of similar to the Purdie shuffle, but it blends something of Bonham's own flavor, too. For anyone that's not a drummer or musician and doesn't understand the lingo, just listen to the groove it creates. So long as you can feel that, nothing else really matters.

The song is most significant as being the band's last single released during their time together. It hit #21 on the Hot 100 in 1980. The song has all kinds of complicated theory behind, including 6-over-4 polyrhythmic Latin grooves and the aforementioned shuffle, all paired over a 12/8 meter. Again, what really matters is the way it all comes together in your ear.
