I was back in my home town for a wedding this weekend, and even after only being gone for about two weeks, I realized how much I already miss the familiarity of home. I miss knowing where things are without thinking, the lack of need for a GPS. I miss familiar faces. I miss family. I miss friends. Specifically for where I'm from, I miss the mountains, because Florida is pretty devoid of them. On the same hand, I'm really excited to see what I can accomplish in my new home.
Montgomery Gentry has been one of my favorite new artists for a while. Of course, they're not all that new anymore, but they're respectively new in comparison to most groups I listen to regularly. Their first album, Tattoos and Scars, is one of those albums I can listen to from beginning to end without having to skip a song. That's a rarity for me. While I don't care for all of their songs, they still turn out a few good ones I connect with on one level or another on pretty consistent basis. The song took the #5 spot on the country charts, and it saw the #40 spot on the Hot 100.
