She's Her Own Woman - Brad Paisley

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=db8YjO2Q2Jo]

Brad Paisley is by far one of my favorite artists. He's really diverse, but stays true to his roots. This song is a good example of that diversity. It's definitely got a kind of 12/8 blues feel, but it still sounds like Paisley. Of course, you could pick his guitar tone out of just about any song on which he would play.

He is one of the most clever lyricists I've ever listened to, and every album he's put out (with the exception of Play, which was mostly instrumental), I can listen to in its entirety without having to skip a song because I dislike it. I've seen him live, too. He's not the best vocalist, but he is a great writer and one of the best guitarists around, and his voice is good, just not the best. He's an all around great performer and musician, the whole package.

This isn't one of his most popular songs, but like a lot of artists, his most popular stuff isn't necessarily the best stuff. Some of the tracks that haven't been released as singles over the years are my favorites.  This song says a lot about what a guy (like me anyway) is looking for in a woman, and it's great that he found it. He's written lots of songs about his now wife (Kimberly Williams Paisley), and this is one of my favorites.
