Thriller - Fall Out Boy

There's something about those beats and riffs where the the guitar bass and drums are all hammering the same rhythm. You can't come by them often in music other than metal, but there's a part near the beginning of this song where you get that sound. That's what initially attracted me to this band. This whole album is really good, one that I can listen to front to back without needing to skip a song. Yes, it's a little over-produced, but it really makes the song come together. It never sounds quite like this when they perform the song live, but it just makes the live version all that much better to hear. It doesn't sound bad live, just a lot less going on in the music.

This was not one of the singles released on the album, but it does appear as the first track. Jay-Z makes an appearance at the beginning of the song, talking over the beginning. The title of the album appears in a quote from Vincent Van Gogh. In a letter to his brother he wrote, "Be clearly aware of the stars and infinity on high. Then life seems almost enchanted after all." It was late in this same year, only two years before his death, that he would cut off his left ear, possibly the most remembered incident of his life.
