This song builds in a very cool way. The verses are mostly laid back with just piano, but the chorus has that two-part harmony for which Heart is famous, and it really picks things up a bit from the verse. Both of these ladies had some pipes. The song is true from most of us at one point or another: trying to decided how and when to tell someone something...and maybe missing that opportunity. Take a listen if you haven't ever. So many remakes/covers of this song have been attempted. Make sure you're not turned away from it by a cover that's not up to par. I really think it's the vocals that put Heart's version at the top of the pile.
As much as I make it sound like this is a Heart song, it's technically not. I just think their version is the definitive one. I just recently learned that actor John Stamos recorded it before Heart did. It was before his time on Full House. Before that role, he was on a show called Dreams. If you look below, you'll see that version of the song. Even before Stamos took it on, the writers, Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly, recorded it with their own project, I-Ten. The female voice in the Stamos version is Valerie Stevenson.
