Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen

At the time of recording the song that would become everyone's favorite sing-a-long, this was the most expensive single ever recorded. It was a venture worth taking, though. The song spent nine weeks at #1 in the UK upon its release and another five in the same spot following singer Freddie Mercury's death. Its sales make it the third best-selling single of all time in the UK. In the US, it wasn't quite as popular, reaching #9 during its original release, but when the song was featured in the movie Wayne's World, it hit the charts again, reaching #2.

The song went on to reach a ridiculous level of pop-culture notoriety. It's been featured in movies, on TV shows, and preformed by many different artists and groups. One of my favorite performances comes from the Muppets. You can check out their take on the song below. If you're interested in a good read, head over to Wikipedia and check out the detailed process of recording the song and the layout of the structure.
