Journey haters that are true musicians or music lovers can hate all they want, but they can't deny the impact the talent of the group had on the music industry. You can walk into any bar or club across America, play one of their songs, and have everyone in the place singing before it's over...and all of those songs were released (for the most part) over two decades ago. There are way fewer bands that accomplish this than there are bands in the world, obviously.
A lot of the band's songs are overplayed, but they are still great songs. "Don't Stop Believin'" is probably my second favorite Journey tune next to this one, and I don't let the over-played factor influence my opinion of the songs. This is a great tune about being on the road without your loved ones, and it's something almost every professional musician experiences. A lot of those musicians have written songs about it, too. So, even though you've probably heard it hundreds of times before, give a listen to this great song.
