Funk 49 - Joe Walsh

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-az-5A23Js]

Walsh (of James Gang and Eagles fame) performs one of his best known songs at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival. They hold the festival each year, and they've released a couple of years on DVD. If you haven't seen it, pick it up. Everybody who's anybody in the guitar world is there: Robert Cray to John Mayer to Robert Randolph to Billy Gibbons.

This song has always been a favorite of mine. It's partially because I like the groove, and I'm sure that a drum solo has something to do with it. I really like this version. Walsh is joined here by Donald "Duck" Dunn and Steve "the Colonel" Cropper of Blues Brothers and Booker T and MGs fame. Those two guys can still lay it down. I think Walsh is really funny as well. If you don't smile at least once during this video - at his shoes if nothing else - you should lighten up.
