Go Your Own Way - Fleetwood Mac

This song is off an album that was basically written about all the drama that was going on within the band at the time. That's really what the whole album is about. A lot of the best songs ever written are written about pain, and there seems to have been plenty of that to go around between the members. Right from the first line, you get a sense of that drama and meaning. My favorite thing about this song is the difference in feel between the verses and chorus. The verses feel more choppy and rhythmically defined where the chorus just flows.

The song was a major success for the band, becoming their first top ten hit in the US. It was written for the 1977 album Rumors by member Lindsey Buckingham. It was the band's eleventh album putting their breakthrough to the US top ten a later achievement in their career. The album overall was the band's most successful and contained three of their other major hits, "Don't Stop", "You Make Loving Fun", and "Dreams".
