Let Her Cry - Hootie and the Blowfish

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8OZC0PPefI]

Going back and watching some older Hootie and the Blowfish performances, it makes perfect sense that Darius Rucker made the transition to country music. The stuff that his former group did was basically what modern country is today. I'd also forgotten how much I like some of the group's music. They wrote and recorded some really good stuff. I like Rucker's voice, and he seems to have a really great personality and attitude, too. That likable personality probably went a long way toward opening doors in the country industry.

The song appeared on the band's debut album, Cracked Rear View. The album would go on to become the 16th best-selling album in the US...of all time. The album contained the band's three biggest hits, "Hold My Hand", "Only Wanna Be with You", and the song featured in this post. Also, just in case you were wondering, the band's name is derived from college. Hootie was Rucker's nickname due to his round, owl-like facial features, and a friend of his carried the nickname Blowfish because of his puffy cheeks.
