Love is a Beautiful Thing - Phil Vassar

This is one of the few songs our there that grabs me more with its message than its music. I like a lot of the lines a lot. Particularly the line that says "Uncle Joe and Uncle Jake haven't spoken since '98, just said hello, it's a good day to let it go". A wedding can really bring people together like that. The song itself is really good, too. It's one of those songs I always make sure to play when I'm DJing a wedding.

Written by Jeffrey Steele and Craig Wiseman, the song was initially released by Paul Brandt in 1999. It wasn't until Vassar covered the song in 2007 that it cracked the Hot 100, reaching #48. While Brandt's version did make the Hot Country Songs chart, it only made it to #26; Vassar's climbed to the #2 seat.
