The Buddy Rich Big Band still performs today as far as I know. Of course, Rich died several years ago, and now the band has guest drummers perform with them pretty often. This is my favorite song of Rich's, and it's really cool - and awkward because he plays lefty - to see Phil Collins playing the tune. This is pretty much the same format the song had when Rich performed it, but Collins is playing it quite a bit different here, adding his own style of course.
The song has become a jazz standard today, but it was originally recorded by Julian "Cannonball" Adderley in 1966. It was released on his live album from that year and hit #11 on the Hot 100. Since then, it's been covered by all kinds of artists. One of the most famous covers is from The Buckinghams, a version that included lyrics. A cover of that version is another of my favorites, recorded by Queen Latifa. There's also a really, really great version of the song at the slower, original tempo by the BRBB with Dave Wekcl on drums. See below!
