It's 2 A.M. - Shemekia Copeland

Copeland is the daughter of blues guitarist Johnny Copeland. Her first album, Turn the Heat Up!, hit in 1998, followed by her second album two years later. That 2000 effort, Wicked, won her three Blues Music Awards. She also had the opportunity to record with blues legend Ruth Brown on that second release. She's since released five more albums, working with greats like Dr. John and Steve Cropper.

This song has a lot of blues influence, but it also has some rock n' roll in there, too. That opening guitar riff is a nice blend of the two styles and it catches you right away. None of the parts are too much for the others, and everything fits together very well, from the driving bass line to the screaming harmonica.
