Love Shack - The B-52s

Rockin' bass line? Check! Distinctive vocals? Check! Topic that revolves around a sexual theme? Check! I think we've got a hit song here. Indeed, this was the group's comeback song of sorts that took a reach at the top spot of the Top 40 charts, reaching the #3 spot. It was their only song to break into the Top 40. It has since become an anthem of weddings, reunions, and parties all over American, everyone yelling, "tin roof...rusted" in unison.

The song's inspiration was a cabin just off the Atlanta Highway, as noted in the song. The group wrote and practiced there, the place where "Rock Lobster" was created. One of the group's singers, Kate Pierson, lived in the cabin in the 70's, and it stood all the way through 2004 when it was destroyed by a fire.
