I first heard this song in Blues Brothers 2000. Here is the original cut by Carter. With the exception of the back-and-forth wordplay that Elwood and Mac share on the movie version, it's pretty much the same song. Aykroyd is big on blues, and he takes every chance he can to include the music in his films. This isn't the first movie the song was used in, though. It was also featured in the movie "Another Day in Paradise", starring James Woods and Melanie Griffith.
Clarence is from Montgomery, AL where he attended Alabama School for the Blind. One of his earlier music endeavors was as part of a duo, Clarence & Calvin. The duo released a few singles never quite made it "big". Clarence would fare much better on his own. His biggest hits including "Strokin'" and "Back Door Santa".
