I Got You (I Feel Good) [Alternate Take] - James Brown

Everybody knows this song, right? It's an iconic funk tune that crossed into popular play. It's one of the Godfather of Soul's biggest hits. Well, this take is a little different. It's an alternate studio take. This version was featured in the movie White Men Can't Jump, and was originally recorded in 1975. James Brown was notorious for not being able to perform a song the same way twice. This is one of the reasons movie appearances (i.e. The Blues Brothers) were so difficult to record with Brown.

His original recording of the song was released ten years earlier. Brown wrote an earlier song that is almost identical in structure and melody to the original version. "I Found You" was recorded and released by one of his backup singers, Yvonne Fair, in 1962. The song had little to no real success, leaving the door open for Brown to try his own hand at the melody.
