Land of Confusion - Genesis

This song has a great meaning that's as applicable today as when it was written. Collins and Co. really did something with this tune and the original music video. The song itself is kind of weird in the fact that the beat is clearly defined, but at the same time, all of the syncopation going on makes it feel different than a lot of contemporary popular music. I like it a lot, and Collins still sounds just as good as he did when the song was recorded.

Genesis' original cut made it to a #4 spot in the US as the fourth single from Invisible Touch. More recently, Disturbed has cut a rendition of the song as well. This group has dealt with a lot of serious issues in their music. I think it's a good cover of the song, and I like that they stay pretty much true to the original feel, but it's still their own take.
