Keith is a great song writer, and even though it's a sad one, I like this Christmas song. The song is somewhere in the neighborhood of fifteen years old, but with the financial problems so many face in our country today, it's still relevant. It has the hint of a Christmas sound but a very haunting one.
The song was the first track on Keith's 1995 Christmas album, Christmas to Christmas. It was the only track from the album to chart, hitting the #50 spot. It followed the success of his second studio album, Boomtown. Several big hits came from that collection, including one of my favorites, "Big Ol' Truck."
