Nobody sings a George Strait song like George Strait, and to be honest, I don't really care for Nettles voice at all. I can see for sure why she's made it as far as she has. Her voice is strong and she always sounds in key with good tone. Plus, that voice is very recognizable. I just don't like the way it sounds. Nevertheless, this is the best live version of the song available to post. George seems to approve as you can see him sitting off the side of the stage.
The song itself has that little bit of Cajun flavor in it that I like to hear every now and then. Cajun sound is a lot like Cajun seasoning: if you put too much into the mix, nobody is going to like it. Cajun music on its own can stand, though. You just have to be careful when mixing it in with another style. A little bit of that style is lost in this cover, but it's still there. The main thing missing is the accordion that fills in the background of the studio version. With my first argument above in mind, I've provided Strait's version below. It's not live, but it's still good.
