I like this style of music a lot, but it often turns screamo somewhere in the middle of the song. I'm not into that at all. If you'll notice, lead singer, Stephen Christian, doesn't scream or growl one line in this tune. I like it, and that lack of following what everyone else in the genre seems to be doing shows some originality and control.
The group has been labeled as a Christian music group by the media on more than one occasion. However, Stephen has reported on multiple occasions that this isn't the case, believing that the misconception comes from being signed to Tooth & Nail Records originally. The company started out as a Christian label and never lost that association, even after signing non-Christian groups. Stephen says that he doesn't care who listens to the music, as long as it helps those in need, no matter their circumstances. He's quoted as saying that even though his faith affects every aspect of his life, he's "not a preacher" but an "entertainer".
