Here's another good summer song for you. "Beers Ago" appears on the same album as "Red Solo Cup," but I personally think this song is much, much better. Keith is a great songwriter, and though he can have some fun with a song about a beer cup, he can still write songs about life, too. This one proves it.
It's got just the right mix of nostalgia, girls, and beer to make a great summer song. Keith took "Beers" to a #6 on the Hot Country Songs chart, and "Solo Cup" only turned a #9. Despite that victory, "Solo Cup" bested the better song on the Hot 100, landing at #15 on that chart; "Beers" only turned out a #52. Maybe that just shows that country fans have a better taste in music.
