Sweet Summer - Diamond Rio

You can automatically take out the parts about living in a "neighborhood". I live too far out in the country to have one of those. Still, the music itself reminds me of summers growing up...or at least the way I remember them. The things I remember may not necessarily have been the way they actually transpired. "The good ol' days weren't always good" as they say. Hours and hours spent on a dirt bike, plenty of time roaming the woods on foot, wading through the creek for no reason, basketball in the driveway, drinking from the hose cause you're too dirty to go inside...I remember all that, and this song captures those thoughts and feelings all too well.

The song was released on One More Day, the group's 2001 album. It was the third single from the collection, and it performed well for Rio. The song saw a #18 spot on the country charts, and it climbed to a #4 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart.
