Till You're Gone - Gabe Dixon

When an artist declines to go one tour with Paul McCartney, you can figure a couple of things. One, he's a really talented musician, or he wouldn't have been offered the chance to begin with. Two, he's either really bad at making decisions or really passionate about his own work. In this case it's the latter. Dixon declined to go on a world tour with Sir Paul, in the most respectful way you can decline an offer of that magnitude, in order to work on this bands second album, their first to be released on a major label. The three piece band, formed at the University of Miami, plays piano-driven rock, and it sounds awesome.

The video above is a solo performance of Cee Lo Green's "F**k You", and Dixon's "Till You're Gone".  I love the way that Dixon changes up the feel and groove of Cee Lo's hit song, but I always like a blues shuffle. Even more than that, though, I like the transition he creates between the two songs, slowly moving from the shuffle to the straighter rock feel of his own song.
