I wasn't a big fan of Tritt's growing up, and I honestly don't know why. The only thing I can come up with is that I just wasn't mature enough to get his messages, the meanings of the songs. Also, I was at an age where the Cyrus Virus was bound to take hold, and it did. Billy Ray Cyrus was everywhere, along with the Achy Breaky craze. Tritt had some choice things to say about him, and I might have just been turned off from Tritt for that very reason, my blind Billy Ray obsession based on his pop culture status and the fact that he came from the area in which I grew up.
Tritt has had some great music in the past, and even in recent years, he's turned out some good tunes, and this is definitely one of them. It's not one of my favorites of his, but it fits my current theme very well, and I do like the song. It's all about being happy with what you have, a sub-theme of the month I subconsciously added. I think the world in general could do with a little more of that attitude. This song was held in limbo for a long time through other versions, but this is by far the most famous rendition.
