Country Doesn't Mean Sad

It's funny to listen to this song now. What was considered "high tech" in 1994 when the song was released is now low tech or something that's outdated or something that most people never use on a daily basis. Mentioning things like VCR and picture-in-picture viewing, Jones was talking about things that were top of the line tech at the time. The lyrics include a line about CB radios, too. I remember having those in a couple of our cars when I was young, but now it's a technology that's barely even still used in the trucking industry. My how the times change. My favorite line of the song has to be "Mayberry meets Star Trek".
Jones' album of the same name went Gold in 1994. It was just a year after Conway Twitty's passing, and Jones dedicated the album to him. He even went as far as to record a cover of "Hello Darlin'" to use as the album's closing track.
