Phil's Piano Solo - Groundhog Day

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQLhORPoUJs]

First off, that is unfortunately not Bill Murray actually playing the piano. Secondly, if there's one thing in music I'm a huge sucker for (other than a horn section) it's boogie woogie piano. That's the first style you hear before Phil (Murray) breaks the band to go into more of a jazz/blues riff. The second part of the song is actually a take on the "Eighteenth Variation from Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini" that Phil learns from his piano teacher earlier in the film. Terry Fryer is the musician actually playing the part, and the one who arranged the piece as well.

I absolutely love this movie, and I love this song or medley, whichever you want to call it. I bought the soundtrack because I couldn't find this anywhere online for purchase digitally. Yup, I like it that much. I only wish it were longer. BTW, if you haven't ever seen the movie, go watch it, right now!
