It's always interesting to me to learn the way a song was written or the process in general that people go through to write a song. Brice talks very briefly about it at the beginning of this video. I've seen lots of different ways personally. It doesn't work like I think a lot of people imagine it to work. It's like the way people who don't write fiction think it gets done.
You don't necessarily write the first page of a novel, short story, or movie script first and then go straight through to the end. It more often happens that you write a scene you have in your mind that is somewhere in the middle of the story, and you build from there. In the same respect, people don't sit down and write a song from beginning to end all at once.
If one person is writing, they may come up with just a riff first, or maybe a chorus, or maybe a melody. Then, they'll build off that to create the rest of the song. If multiple people are writing together, there are a plethora of ways that a song may get written. It may also go through several changes before actually becoming the song you hear on the radio or album. Brice gives you an explanation of one of those ways.
