I Drive Your Truck - Lee Brice

I posted a video from Brice back in October, but I really connected with this song and wanted to put it up. There are lots of times I find it hard to look into the deeper meaning of a song, because there isn't really a need to dive into it. At other times, I find deeper meaning in songs or hear them differently than others do when they seem to be very simple at the heart of it. I think most people would probably feel that same connection I do in one way or another in this case. I'm a very melancholic person, and I get sentimental about a lot of things. I make connections between inanimate objects and people, which is what's going on in the lyrics of this song.

Even if you don't make the connection the same way I do, I think most people will know what I mean. Obviously, it doesn't have to be a truck, but most people have an old rocking chair or a coffee mug or a place they spent time with someone or an old shirt or something that reminds them of a person they've lost. Lots of people find comfort in those little items when missing that person. This is evidenced by the song currently sitting at #20 on Billboard's Hot Country Tracks chart.
