It's refreshing to see young faces singing songs you grew up with. It might be that it makes you feel like your days aren't as old and forgotten as you think they are. It might be the hope that there is still a chance that good music will survive into the future. It might be simple nostalgia. Whatever it is, I'm glad to see this young girl performing this classic tune.
I've been listening to Alabama since I was old enough to listen, but really, this was one of the last songs I came in contact with from the group. It was never a #1 hit for them, but they had plenty anyway, thirty-two, actually. If you multiply that number by two, you'll get the number of singles that made the Billboard Hot Country Charts. That's a lot of hits for one group, and they're all excellent songs, no radio junk. I was reminded of the song recently after watching Major League: Back to the Minors. It appears on that soundtrack.
