Angel - Aerosmith

Theme: Power of Love

This power ballad became the band's second highest chart performing song after the release of their smash hit, "Don't Want to Miss a Thing". Before that songs release on the Armageddon soundtrack, the band took this song to the highest charting position they had seen.

This success was great for the band, but made them all weary to perform the song, having heard it so many times. Steven Tyler, frontman for the group and co-writer on the song, has been vocal on several occasions about loving the song, but hating the overplayed nature of a hit like this one.

The song really speaks to what its like having that someone special. For me, there is no point in the song that captures that more than the short bridge following Perry's guitar solo.

"You're the reason I live

You're the reason I die

You're the reason I give

When I break down and cry

Don't need no reason why"

Particularly, that last line really puts it into perspective.
