Theme: Power of Love

Yesterday's post was a song that had the exact theme as this one. If you don't have love in your life, everything else means nothing. It doesn't matter how many cars or houses you have or what your job is. You have to have love! Of course, some would say love is all you need, but that's a different post, I think. This song was Strait's 15th #1, and like several of his other songs, this one was a classic country hit, recorded by Faron Young originally.
Strait, to me, is what Dino (who yesterday's post was about) would be like if he had been a country singer. George is on his farewell tour right now, calling it "The Cowboy Rides Away", and I had the opportunity to see him in concert in Lexington, KY. He's just as cool now as he always was. He's just one of those guys that makes it look so easy, something Dino was really great at, too.
I try my best not to post different songs from the same artists over and over, but I've posted about Strait three times (this will make four) as a solo performer, and at least twice with other performers as a duet or group. I just can't seem to keep away from King George.
I think you really missed an opportunity here. Something along the lines of "four days 'Strait'."
ReplyDeleteBut no... you had to choose the high road...
