Today's entry is a somewhat obscure reference. Up to this point, the music for this month's theme has been well-known pieces, several of them made famous by the film/TV show in which they appear. This song is one that was picked for a short section of the show Person of Interest.
If you haven't watched the show, check it out. It's a got quite a bit of plot secrecy, surrounded by lies and deceit, mostly brought on by producer J.J. Abrams, I imagine. He brings a pretty heavy LOST flavor, along with Michael Emerson who worked with Abrams on that show, playing Benjamin Linus. It's also a cool show for those that are tech nuts.
The song is from the group's fourth album, Blood Pressures. This is not its only appearance on film, though. It was used in the trailer for Contraband, and in the TV shows Vampire Diaries and Political Animals. The band is still beating along its indie path and doing very well. While researching this entry I also stumbled on a version of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams" that the group did for a tribute album. It's very different from the original, but it's pretty cool. You can check it out below.
