April Theme: Big & Small Screen Music

This is absolutely one of my favorite songs of all time. Billy Joel wrote the song after moving cross country back to New York from California. There have been lots of songs written about New York, and even more songs written about missing and coming back home. This one just hits really hard emotionally.
The above version was performed on an episode of The Muppet Show. Floyd Pepper sings and is backed up by Dr. Teeth and the rest of The Electric Mayhem. BTW, they're one of my favorite bands of all time, too. No matter how well they do it, though, nobody does it like Billy. You can hear his version below.

Of course, in this video you only get Billy singing. You get a very brave and daring student from Vanderbilt playing piano. You can see what happens in the video, and I love that Joel says "sure". I love it even more that the kid nails it. Sometimes an opportunity comes along, and you have to take it or regret it later.
