Time to Blow - Del Paxton

 [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1EIY0V1RmA]

There is very little information available on this song. It's one of my favorite jazz pieces, though. It was recorded for the movie That Thing You Do!, and is the only song of its kind on the soundtrack. The rest of the soundtrack is filled with fictional radio hits of the 1960s.

The song was recorded by fictional jazz painist Del Paxton, portrayed in the film by one of my favorite character actors, Bill Cobb. There are a couple of other jazz scenes in the film. The drummer for the group the movie follows, The Wonders, is very interested in jazz, and on a side note, has one of the best names ever: Guy Patterson.

There are a couple of other jazz scenes in the film, but neither of them are online in any decent quality. I'd recommend watching the entire movie. You can head over to my movie blog and check out my review of it.
