Staircase was a one-hit wonder from the sixties, and this was that one hit. What a hit it was, though! It's been covered dozens of times over by everyone from Sonny and Cher to Goldfinger. It has also been featured in several movies, including The Waterboy and My Girl. You've probably heard it on the radio and in department stores. It's just one of those songs that is everywhere.
