I decided that since I don't seek out nearly enough new music, whether it be newly released music or older music I've never heard, I'd go looking for new stuff on Billboard.com. Well, I started with the "Hot 100", and I like the current #1, "Blurred Lines", but I've already posted about it. I couldn't make it all the way through "We Can't Stop" by Miley Cyrus or "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons. The first of those two was just stupid and the video didn't help any. The second wasn't that bad, it's just not my cup of tea, if you will.
The #4 right now is this tune, "Get Lucky". While I kind of like it, I'd like for it to go somewhere else. It just kind of hangs in that same groove the whole song. When a tune does that, it has to be really, really catchy to keep my interest. There are plenty of tunes out there that do that, but this isn't one of them. I can see this working really well in a movie soundtrack or as background music, but I don't see it showing up on my playlist any time soon. However, so far down the list, it's the second best I've encountered. I think I'll be exploring the charts some more over the next few days.
