Brass Romance - Canadian Brass

This group has been around since 1970, founded by Charles Daellenbach and Gene Watts. The group has recorded over 100 CDs and DVDs and still tours heavily on an international level. However, the song here is not one you're likely to hear at their live performances. It's an arrangement of Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance", appropriately renamed.

This song was recorded as a way to reach new audiences and show a side of the group that is not usually seen. In other words, the quintet decided to have some fun. I think it's really important for musicians, particularly professional musicians (and even more specifically classical musicians), to remember that music is supposed to be just that: fun. Yes, it should be performed well and with an air of professionalism, but it should always be fun, too. If it's not, you're not doing it right.
