Leave it to a jazz artist to prove me wrong! I just posted a couple of days ago that this is one of my least favorite Christmas songs. Well, just yesterday, I caught this version on Pandora's jazz Christmas station. While you can definitely hear the melody of the tune, the song takes it and spreads it around in some unconventional ways. I particularly enjoy the bass and drums trading fours at around the 2:03 mark. It just goes to prove that interpretation is so important in music.
