I think Ellen nails it when she labels Clarkson's song as a "soon to be" Christmas classic. It has all the makings of a great holiday tune, horn section, 12/8 groove, catchy lyrics and melody. I'd definitely like to hear the rest of her Christmas album. She's a much more talented an artist than she's often given credit for being.
The song was co-written by Clarkson and Greg Kurstin. It appears on her first Christmas album, Wrapped in Red, that was just released this year. It has been compared by many to Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas", and i think its a good comparison.
