Use Somebody - Kings of Leon

Part syncopated drum and bass rhythms, part pop-punk, part rock anthem and part very distinct vocals equals a pretty darn good song. I noticed most of the rock songs I've posted are older, but I really like a lot of the new stuff that's around, too. This song is catchy, and I'll be honest: I've listened to most of the rest of this album and didn't much care for it. I can't deny the infectious nature of this tune, though. The song is, as I interpret it, about the need to have someone to lean in tough times. At first I thought it was about "using" someone, but now I see that he could use somebody not that he wants to use somebody. I think sometimes we could all use somebody.

The band has been around since 1999, forming in Nashville, TN. Early in the band's history, they focused more on the sounds you might expect to come from Music City, blues and southern rock. Listening to the song above, you can hear the sound has changed to a more alternative rock sound. It took a little while to get there. "Use Somebody" was released on the band's fourth album, Only by the Night, in 2008.
