Hard to Handle - The Black Crowes

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CE6bgj-hx4]

Originally recorded by Otis Redding (as so many great songs were), this one is best performed live by the Crowes. They usually have a horn section - even the Dirty Dozen Brass Band on occasion, find some way to make it different and a little less monotonous, and their guitar player tears it up. This one is all about show. It's not all that different from the original, but the Crowes definitely make it their own in subtle ways.

Redding wrote the song with Al Bell and Allen Jones. Unfortunately, he wasn't around for its release. Redding's version of the song was released in 1968 after his passing. Released on The Immortal Otis Redding, the song made the #38 spot on the R&B charts. Through cover version like this one, it still lives on today.
