Over My Head (Cable Car) - The Fray

Don't we all get in over our heads a little sometimes? More often than not, when we do wind up "in too deep" it's in the area of love. You're probably thinking of a time you got over your head with a romantic situation, but that's not the only time this can happen. Often times, we find ourselves in a bad situation with family members, a totally different kind of love. That's what drove Isaac Slade, the group's lead singer and pianist, to write this song. A fight with his brother pushed the two apart, but one day, thankfully for them, still early in their lives, they decided it wasn't worth losing each other over.

The song was originally released as a demo by the band, and that self-produced demo became one of the most played songs of 2005 on Denver's KTCL. The version above was re-recorded for their debut album, How to Save a Life. The song took to the top 10 quickly and sold over two million digital downloads. The album also gave us the hit title track.

  1. This really is an amazing song along with a lot of their songs. I've listened to the fray for a couple of years now and they are a good break from the things I usually listen to.
