September - Earth, Wind and FIre

This is one of the catchiest most dance-able tunes I've ever heard. If you can listen to this song and not bounce along or dance in some way, you should get yourself checked out. EW&F can groove like few others have ever been able to groove. A close friend of mine used this song as the exit song during their wedding ceremony. The wedding party danced out, and I saw guys dance that I have known for years and never seen try to dance before and fail. This song made them move.

This is by far one of the band's best-known songs. It took the #1 spot on the R&B charts and #8 on the Hot 100 in 1978. It has been certified Gold in the US in both physical and digital sales. The band initially formed in Chicago under the name Salty Peppers and had a fairly successful tune in the region, but shortly after the release of their second, less successful release, the band relocated to Los Angeles where they eventually signed a contract with Warner Bros. Records.
