Forget You - Cee Lo Green

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKxodgpyGec]

A song that appears, on the surface, to be about a lost love of sorts is, according to the artist himself, directed at the music industry. That should come as no surprise as a lot of bands and artists have a love-hate relationship with the business side of their careers. The music industry is no easy line of business, and as close as people tend to work together in it, hard feelings are often the norm between artists, labels, producers, etc.  Despite the serious undertones of the meaning, this song is a lot of fun, and I'm really glad that Cee Lo hit the big time with this one, but you should really check out his BBC sessions if you want to see what he's really capable of doing and how talented he really is. It's also interesting to note that among the five credited songwriters for this tune, Bruno Mars can be counted.

Earlier in his career, Cee Lo got his start with the group Goodie Mob. Later he would find more significant success with Gnarls Barkley, a duo he formed with Danger Mouse. Their hit, "Crazy", was a number one on several charts in different countries. I've posted a cover of it in another post. The success he obtained in this groups and his YouTube popularity are what spurred him to branch out on his own.
